The QVP-21A QVR Pro appliance is a tower-based network surveillance server that supports real-time video/audio monitoring, high-resolution recording, and playback from multiple IP cameras. Users can easily monitor cameras from different platforms (Windows, Mac and mobile devices), making it easier for businesses, offices, and home users to safeguard their property and possessions.
QVP-21A vs. other NAS-based surveillance systems. What’s the difference? In a conventional NAS-based surveillance system, surveillance is just one of many applications available to users. As all these applications need to share NAS system resources and storage space, surveillance performance could be impacted. The QVP-21A QVR Pro Appliance overcomes this by providing dedicated storage space and reserving full system resources for surveillance, delivering the utmost performance to fulfill professional surveillance system requirements. The QVP-21A also comes with built-in camera channel licenses and essential applications to enable local installation without requiring an internet connection. Simply install the hard drives and power up the QVP-21A to start the installation process.
Comprehensive camera support and management The QVP-21A supports thousands of camera models from over 150 brands with a variety of image formats (including cameras that use ONVIF and RTSP/ HTTP streaming). Even USB webcams are supported, allowing home and budget-conscious users to quickly build surveillance solutions tailored to their environment while providing convenient camera management.
Motion detection using budget-friendly USB webcams Standard surveillance systems normally only support event recording and notification functions for expensive cameras with integrated motion detection. The QVP-21A provides motion detection even for entry-level cameras and USB webcams. As long as your camera can stream its footage to the QVR Pro appliance (e.g. through RTSP protocol) it supports motion detection, allowing you to build a budget-friendly, motion-detecting surveillance system.
QVR Pro Client The QVR Pro Client software can be installed on Windows and Mac devices, allowing you to monitor from different platforms and flexibly switch from live view or playback mode to take full control over monitored areas.
Easy remote monitoring with the QVR Pro Client mobile app The QVR Pro Client mobile app allows you to remotely monitor multiple channels simultaneously. If your network connection is slow or metered/capped, you can choose the low-bandwidth mode to view a bandwidth-optimized stream without affecting the quality of recordings. In addition, you can remotely set the camera’s preset point or control the PTZ cameras within the app. More information: Performance | Type | NAS | | Device class | Small & Medium Business | | Backup function | Yes | | Backup features | Cloud | | Buzzer | Yes | | Noise level | 19.4 dB | | Web-based management | Yes | | Security algorithms | HTTPS, SSH | | Reset button | Yes | | On/off switch | Yes | | System log | Yes | | Hot spare | Yes | | S.M.A.R.T. support | Yes | | USB copy function | Yes | Design | Chassis type | Tower | | Cooling type | Active | | Product colour | Black | | Number of fans | 1 fan(s) | | Fan diameter | 70 mm | | LED indicators | Power, Reset | Processor | Processor family | Intel® Celeron® | | Processor manufacturer | Intel | | Processor model | J1900 | | Processor frequency | 2 GHz | | Processor boost frequency | 2.42 GHz | | Processor cores | 4 | | CPU configuration (max) | 1 | | Conflict-Free processor | Yes | Software | Operating system installed | QVR Pro OS (QVP) | Memory | Internal memory | 8 GB | | Internal memory type | DDR3L | | Maximum RAM supported | 8 GB | | Memory slots | 2 | | Memory form factor | SO-DIMM | | Flash memory | 5000 MB | Power | Power supply location | Built-in | | Power supply unit (PSU) capacity | 90 W | | Number of power supply units | 1 | | Power consumption (typical) | 16.34 W | | Power consumption (sleep) | 10.14 W | | Power consumption (off) | 0.74 W | | AC input voltage | 100-240 V | Network | Ethernet LAN | Yes | | Ethernet LAN data rates | 1000 Mbit/s | | DHCP server | Yes | | Wake-on-LAN ready | Yes | | Supported network protocols | HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, Static IP, DNS, DDNS, UPnP, FTP, NTP, and SMTP | Weight & dimensions | Width | 102 mm | | Depth | 216 mm | | Height | 150 mm | | Weight | 1470 g | | Package weight | 2920 g | Logistics data | Harmonized System (HS) code | 84714100 | Ports & interfaces | Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports | 2 | | USB port | Yes | | USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) Type-A ports quantity | 3 | | HDMI ports quantity | 1 | | HDMI version | 1.4b | Processor special features | Embedded options available | Yes | | Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology | Yes | | Execute Disable Bit | Yes | | Graphics | 22 nm | | Intel 64 | Yes | | Intel Identity Protection Technology version | 0.00 | | Intel Small Business Advantage (SBA) version | 0.00 | | Intel Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP) version | 0.00 | | Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) | Yes | Storage | Number of storage drives supported | 2 | | Supported storage drive types | HDD & SSD | | RAID support | Yes | | Supported storage drive interfaces | Serial ATA II, Serial ATA III | | Storage drive sizes supported | 2.5,3.5 " | | RAID levels | 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, JBOD | | Online RAID migration | Yes | | Online RAID expansion | Yes | | Hot-swap drive bays | Yes | | Supported file systems | ext4 | Operational conditions | Operating temperature (T-T) | 0 - 40 °C | | Operating relative humidity (H-H) | 5 - 95 % | Packaging content | Cables included | AC, LAN (RJ-45) | | Number of screws | 14 |
